Choose five flexible themes

Leave two nights for leftovers, takeout, events or reality.

  • Taco-ish: tacos, quesadillas or rice bowls
  • Pasta-ish: spaghetti, ravioli or pesto noodles
  • Sheet-pan: sausage, chicken or fish with vegetables
  • Breakfast: eggs, waffles or yogurt plates
  • Shortcut: rotisserie chicken, frozen dumplings or snack dinner

Make a family yes-list

Ask each person for three dinners they usually accept. Circle the meals that overlap and keep the list where grocery decisions happen.

Plan the hardest night first

Look at the calendar. Put the easiest meal on the night with the least time, not automatically on Friday. Use fresh ingredients earlier and pantry or freezer meals later.

Repeat proudly

A rotation is supposed to repeat. Change sauces, sides or toppings when you want novelty; keep the decision-saving structure.
