Cut the paper plate in half; one half becomes the jellyfish body.

Glue yarn or paper strips along the straight edge for tentacles.

Draw or glue on eyes and a smile.

Add the child's name and hang it where the tentacles can wiggle.
Make it work for the child in front of you
Toddlers can color a pre-cut plate and stick on wide paper strips. Older children can cut patterned tentacles, add tissue-paper patches or invent a whole jellyfish family.
The low-mess setup
Put only the supplies needed for the current step on the table. A rimmed baking sheet makes a useful craft tray and catches rolling crayons, glue caps and scraps.
