  • Clear contact paper
  • Paper plate or cardstock for a frame
  • Leaves, petals and flat grasses
  • Scissors
  • Tape or string for hanging

Make it

    Collect a small handful of flat nature items from safe, permitted areas.

    Cut the center from a paper plate to make a frame.

    Cover one side of the opening with contact paper, sticky side facing up.

    Arrange the nature pieces on the sticky surface.

    Seal with a second piece of contact paper, trim the edges and hang in a window.

Try a color mission

Ask children to find three shades of green, one tiny item and one interesting shape. A simple mission can make a familiar walk feel new without requiring a destination.

Keep nature safe too

Collect fallen items when possible, leave protected plants alone and wash hands when you return inside. Skip berries, mushrooms and plants you cannot identify.
