The four-stop landing strip

Post the steps where backpacks naturally land. Keep the same order most days.

  • Home base: shoes, backpack and lunchbox go to assigned spots
  • Refuel: choose from two ready snacks and get water
  • Decompress: quiet, movement or outside time
  • Reconnect: share information and look at papers after the nervous system lands

Do not lead with twenty questions

A warm hello and food may gather more information than immediate questions about tests and behavior. Notice whether your child talks best in the car, during a snack or much later.

Make tomorrow visible

Before dinner, move forms to the adult action spot and put needed items by the exit. The goal is not to finish all homework instantly; it is to prevent one backpack from controlling the evening.
